Day 1: Nairobi to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
In the morning at 07:00Hrs, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Embark on a scenic drive to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in Laikipia region. Check into your camp and enjoy some leisure time. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive to explore the conservancy’s diverse wildlife, including the opportunity to spot the endangered rhinos. Visit the Sweetwater’s Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which provides a haven for rescued orphaned chimpanzees. Enjoy a guided walking safari or a visit to the Morani Information Center to learn more about conservation efforts in the area. Optional activities include a night game drive or a visit to the Endangered Species Boma.
Day 2: Ol Pejeta to Lake Naivasha
Depart Ol Pejeta Conservancy after breakfast and drive to Lake Naivasha, known for its stunning scenery and abundant birdlife. Take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can spot various bird species and possibly hippos. After the boat ride, visit Crescent Island, which is a private sanctuary and a great place to walk among wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Masai Mara
Leave Lake Naivasha after breakfast and make your way to the iconic Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. The Mara is known for its abundant wildlife, especially during the annual wildebeest migration (typically occurring between July and October). Upon arrival, embark on a thrilling game drive, where you can spot lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, and numerous other animals. Witness the breathtaking landscapes of the Mara, with its vast plains and meandering rivers.
Day 4: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for a full day of game viewing in the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara is known for its abundant wildlife, including the annual wildebeest migration, where millions of wildebeest and other herbivores cross the Mara River in search of fresh grazing lands. Witnessing this natural spectacle can be a highlight of your safari experience. During the day, you’ll have a picnic lunch in the park, allowing you to maximize your time for wildlife sightings. In the afternoon, you’ll continue exploring different areas of the reserve, keeping an eye out for the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and other fascinating animals and birds. After a full day of game drives, you’ll return to your camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Masai Mara to Nairobi
After breakfast, depart the Masai Mara and drive back to Nairobi. Arrive in the afternoon and transfer to the airport or your hotel, marking the end of your 3-day Masai Mara Safari package.
