Day 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport where you will be collected by your driver guide and transfer to your accommodation in Arusha.

Day 2

After breakfast head to the village of Materuni near Moshi for a cultural day trip which includes a walk to the waterfalls, visiting a Chagga tribe village and also a coffee plantation visit and coffee making experience. A traditional Swahili lunch is included in todays experience and late afternoon you transfer back to your accommodation in Arusha.

Day 3

Depart from Arusha in the morning and begin the drive through a changing landscape to Tarangire National Park for game drives of the ‘Elephant Playground’. Spend the day game driving in this beautiful park, stopping at one of the scenic picnic sites to enjoy your packed lunch.

Day 4

Morning game drives of Tarangire National Park – then leave the park with a game drive en-route and head the short distance to the Maasai community of Esilalei. Enjoy a hot lunch before meeting with your local Maasai guide who will give you a better understanding of the natural medicines still used on a daily basis with a Maasai medicine walk of the surrounding area. You will then continue on a short walk to a local view point to enjoy sunset over Lake Manyara, Maasai land and the great rift valley escarpment, while enjoying a cool drink and some snacks.

Day 5

Early morning meet your Maasai guide and continue down to a Boma (mud dwelling) for an introduction into the Maasai way of life, beliefs and rituals. Return to the camp for breakfast and then head towards Lake Manyara National Park for game drives of this very diverse park. If you are lucky you may see the famous tree climbing lions. Picnic lunch in the bush followed by game drives until mid afternoon, then slowly make your way out of the park and onto the camp. This evening enjoy watching a display of traditional Maasai dancing.

Day 6

After a leisurely breakfast you will head to Lake Eyasi where you will meet with the Datoga and Blacksmith tribes. The Datoga, also known as the Barabaig are pastoralists who traditionally engaged in cattle herding. They are skilled metalworkers, particularly known for their expertise in blacksmithing. The Datoga people have a rich oral tradition, passing down their history, myths and cultural practices through storytelling.

Day 7

Today is an early start as you head out with packed breakfast to find the Hadazbe Bushmen Tribe. The Hadza are one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in East Africa and they have inhabited the Lake Eyasi region for thousands of years. They rely on hunting and gathering for their sustenance and their lifestyle has remained relatively unchanged for centuries. The Hadza language is unique and distinct and they are known for their traditional click consonants. Together with the Hadza you hunt on food and interact with them in their daily activities. Board the safari vehicle again in the afternoon and transfer to the Karatu Highlands.

Day 8

Early morning transfer to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into the crater for game drives. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a remarkable concentration of wildlife including large populations of lions, elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and flamingos, among many others. The diverse habitats within the crater provide an ideal environment for these species, and it is one of the best places in Africa to observe them in their natural setting Leave the crater late afternoon and return to your accommodation.

Day 9

After breakfast at the lodge, slowly begin the drive towards Arusha where you will be dropped off at Arusha Airport for your flight connection to your next safari/beach destination or drop off at Kilimanjaro Airport for your flight connection back home.
